The Carefree Traveller
Canada's Great Bavarian Festival October 5 - 13, 2007
|
The Kitchener - Waterloo Oktoberfest is a community
based festival featuring over 40 Family and Cultural Events and
15 Festhallen, located throughout the Kitchener- Waterloo region
All have one thing in common, they have what it takes to make
Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Wunderbar.

Whether traditional or unique, all offer great music, dancing, entertainment and are
licensed by the AGCO. Traditional mouthwatering snacks and dinners are available and
all Festhallen are monitored to ensure the surroundings are clean and friendly, and the
food and entertainment are excellent.
Festhallen are where the core of activities and festivities can be found. These Bavarian
decorated buildings or tents have a capacity from 250 to 3,400 people! The five
German Clubs are very popular but all Festhallen must meet certain criteria such as
offering award winning oompah bands, Bavarian dancers, and of course, mouth
watering cuisine. Tickets for Festhallen are sold in advance... Early planning is
important! Each Festhalle is uniquely different, catering to the young and the "young at
heart".

the many Festhallen open. People who have not purchased advance tickets often wait
in line to gain admission, After the Guaranteed Arrival Time, if the hall is not full to
capacity, they are allowed to enter. Any pre-sold tickets are still honoured after the
GAT, but must join the admittance line. Times vary daily.
